Biography

Miracle Rogers is a native of Miami, Florida. She earned her Master's Degree in Bioengineering and her Bachelor's Degree in Health & Exercise Science with a minor in Dance from Syracuse University. She is also a recipient of the Bill and Melinda Gates Millennium Scholarship and the Ronald E. McNair Scholarship. Miracle is passionate about biomedical research and has conducted research at medical institutions in Syracuse, South Africa, and New York City. She attends medical school at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Miracle is passionate about helping students of color excel in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields in order to help increase their access and exposure. She has also served as a leader of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) and the Student National Medical Association (SNMA). Miracle's journey to the SNMA began at Syracuse University's Minority Association of Premedical Students (MAPS) Chapter.

Since then, Miracle has served the SNMA in various capacities over the past ten years in roles such as an SNMA Region IX Leader, a former SNMA Future Leadership Project Fellow, and the Former Vice-Chair of the MAPS Committee. Miracle previously served as the National Pre-Medical Board Member on the Board of Directors and as chair of the National MAPS Committee. During this time, she created the National Post Bacc Program of the SNMA to serve non-traditional students who aspire to become physicians. In this program, members meet bi-weekly with medical students and physician mentors. There are now over 400 members. She has also secured funding to allow members to receive MCAT courses annually. ​

This year, she is serving as a chairperson of the Community Service Committee for a second term and looks forward to continuing to develop health and education efforts to help our organization better serve our community. Another traditionally marginalized population that Miracle is passionate about serving is the deaf community. She is fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and is passionate about deaf culture, which is evident in her creation of the American Sign Language program at Miami Lakes Educational Center. Miracle loves dancing and is trained in modern, jazz, ballet, contemporary, and ballroom dance. She has worked with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and has taught dance for many programs in Miami, Syracuse, and New York City.
