Dear National President-Elect McPhatter, the Elections Committee and HOD,
I am pleased to write this letter on behalf of Ms. Miracle Rogers in support of her candidacy as National President-Elect for the Student National Medical Association. I first met Miracle in 2018 at the Region 8 Medical Education Conference. I was impressed with her dedication to traveling on her own from Region 9 to experience her first RMEC as she was unable to attend her Region's due to a National NIH ABRCMS Research Conference. It has been wonderful to witness Miracle's dedication and growth in her leadership abilities since then.
Miracle has served in a wide range of leadership positions in the SNMA since 2013 on the local, regional, and national levels of the organization. From her experience in her MAPS Chapter at Syracuse University as a Regional 9 Leader for 3 years to her National Leadership Project Fellow position and her numerous positions on the MAPS Committee culminating in her current position as the National Pre-Medical Board Member and Chair to the National MAPS Committee, Miracle demonstrates her preparedness to take on this significant leadership role for the SNMA. As a first-year medical student, Miracle has served as a voting member of the Board of Directors and a voting member of the Executive Committee. As Chair of the National MAPS Committee, she manages a uniquely structured committee of 58 members which models the structure of the SNMA with regional leadership from all 10 regions and the programmatic arms on all national committees.
One of the largest challenges that our organization faces regards gaps in the transition of leadership. Miracle has worked to alleviate this challenge in MAPS by developing standardized virtual MAPS Leadership Training for chapter, regional and national leaders. In regard to academic support, Miracle has worked diligently to secure over 350 MCAT scholarships and substantial discounts from our MAPS members. As an advocate for our premedical affairs, Miracle ensured we had MAPS representation in our SNMA store merchandise and oversaw the MAPS apparel development. As PMBM, she was proactive in assessing the needs of our members and adjusting strategy to assure programs were tailored to their exact needs. Miracle is also always ready to speak on behalf of our organization whether it's to MCAT Prep Companies, at AAMC or AACOM events, or on various panels throughout her tenure. She coordinated both the pre-medical track for our January National Leadership Institute and the pre-medical forum for the 2022 Annual Medical Education Conference while securing sponsorship for the forum's Pre-Medical Luncheon.
Her most phenomenal accomplishment this year has been in founding the National MAPS Post-Bacc Initiative. Miracle has been very resourceful and has demonstrated her ability to secure funding and provide the resources needed to run the program. She has been proactive throughout, ensuring that the design and infrastructure can be sustained for years to come.
Miracle is one of the most dedicated servants of the SNMA. She constantly makes herself available even when asked at short notice. Time and time again, I have witnessed her creativity in meeting the challenges within our organization. Her self-motivation and attention to detail, allows for her to effectively complete any task set before her. Most importantly, she is immensely passionate about supporting the members and mission of the SNMA. I believe Miracle has the vision and fortitude to carry our organization into our 6th decade. Therefore, I give my recommendation for the position of SNMA President-Elect.
Warn Regards,
